What is Omega-3? Is it found only in fish?

Omega-3 is an unsaturated fatty acid that human beings cannot synthesize in their own body. The need for Omega-3 starts in the womb and continues for life. Fish, is the most significant known resource of Omega-3. Long-chain Omega fatty acids (EPA and DHA) are seen in Salmon, Mackerel, Herring, Ton and Anchovy. The short-chain Omega-3 fatty acid (ALA) can be found in vegetable oils and foods. Linseed oil, grape leaves, garlic powder, walnut oil, broccoli, basil, peppermint also has Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in them.
